PEX is approved for direct burial of those installation practices are observed. It is normal in my area to sleeve the PEX line in an oversized pipe or conduit of some sort.

Pex is a fine choice though if there is concern about expansion and contraction wearing on the pipe it can be sleeved. Is this main run to a well or the city water supply? If the city's involved then it's probably going to be their call.

You need to replace the galvy with copper or brass. Galvy is actually steel pipe coated with zinc and it has a tendency to flake off and clog the system and also rust. Reply Like.

It's a big no no and OSHA don't even allow it because it's so dangerous. The rapidair line is cheap at about $50 for $100 foot. www.thecoastalcraftsman.com.

Jun 17, 2017 · A cheap pair of tubing cutters is good enough for small jobs, Rigid ratchet cutters are probably the best. 2) The CPVC pipe is the ideal balance of rigid and flexible to run pipe straight like copper or run it messy like PEX. Giving customers the option to run homerun/manifold plumbing is a nightmare.

Only ever do it if you have too.ie kitchen sink island. All pex should be sleeved if it is underground. I have done over 300 repipes all with wirsbo and havent had a call back its allready over 8 ...

Feb 26, 2007 · Hard water does not necessarily create corrossion, more the other way (build up) A low pH in the water affects copper pipe. At least get all of the old galvanized piping out of there, then go with copper or pex. I plumb houses with both. Pex is more cost efficient. My house is a hybrid---both copper and pex. Reply Like.
Water leaked at dishwasher PEX compression fitting
Jan 15, 2011 · The valve box said to use an insert if using a compression fitting with PEX. The replacement 3/8" PEX line I got didn't say about using an insert. I chopped the existing line off, then replaced a section of PEX with a new one, then installed with brass insert, connected the two ends using a coupler.
