As of Friday, the Middle Tennessee region remains under a flood watch. The remnants of Helene will bring along heavy rainfall and strong winds.

After Hurricane Helene makes landfall late Thursday evening in Florida, it’s path is expected to continue on to Tennessee, bringing heavy tropical downpours, gusty wind and even a flooding threat to the Midstate.

The possibility of heavy rainfall and high wind gusts resulting from Helene’s remnants presents "a much higher level of risk for tomorrow’s commute for not only our bus drivers, but also for our less experienced student drivers within our high schools,
