The call came shortly after the AP projected MAGA Republican Bernie Moreno to unseat Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown in Ohio, and Sen. Ted Cruz to defeat challenger Rep. Colin Allred in Texas.

Republicans regained control of the Senate on Election Day and entered the early hours Wednesday looking toward expanding their majority. The flip in the upper chamber came just hours before former President Donald Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in the race for the presidency.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska Republican Deb Fischer won reelection Tuesday to a third term in the U.S. Senate, besting challenger Dan Osborn, a former labor union boss and military veteran who gained traction during the race by rejecting both major parties to run as an independent.

Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has won reelection in Texas to a third term after a campaign in which he criticized his Democratic challenger as too liberal.

Americans are poised to elect a new Congress as every seat in the House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate is up before voters on Election Day.
