Building inspector Randy Farrell is accused in a federal indictment of giving a public official Saints tickets, a new phone and an $831 steakhouse dinner as part of his efforts to get a city employee fired.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Former New Orleans inspector Randy Farrell was indicted in federal court Friday (Sept. 27). The indictment against Farrell ties his alleged fraudulent activities to high-ranking city officials, including Mayor LaToya Cantrell and the city’s Chief Administrative Officer, Gilbert Montano.

Sources have said the feds believe Farrell orchestrated a quid-pro-quo arrangement that led Mayor LaToya Cantrell to fire Jennifer Cecil, a top Department of Safety and Permits official.
