EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Hundreds gathered at UW-Eau Claire to help raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer research. The event was part of the larger Walk to End Alzheimer’s event held by the Alzheimer’s Association that hosts similar events in more than 600 communities across the countries.

The annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s took place Saturday morning, people gathered in support and discussed the growing concerns surrounding the disease. In 1989 the Alzheimer’s Association introduced the Memory Walk,

The Maine chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association say they have raised $70 thousand, almost meeting their end of year goal of $80 thousand.
