Republican Texas firebrand U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, 53, won re-election to a third term, Edison Research projected on Tuesday, holding off a formidable Democratic challenger who tried to end a three-decade conservative hold on the seat.
Both candidates are making their closing arguments at the culmination of a heated and expensive race which could decide control of the U.S. Senate.
Republican Ted Cruz won his third term in the U.S. senate, and much of his donor support came from the real estate industry.
