As of Friday, the Middle Tennessee region remains under a flood watch. The remnants of Helene will bring along heavy rainfall and strong winds.

After Hurricane Helene makes landfall late Thursday evening in Florida, it’s path is expected to continue on to Tennessee, bringing heavy tropical downpours, gusty wind and even a flooding threat to the Midstate.

The authorities were evacuating residents living downstream from the Nolichucky Dam, warning it was likely to fail and cause deadly flash flooding after Helene caused record water levels in the area.
