The rankings held up well through the first round of the playoffs. Warren knocking off Palatine was the only mild surprise and that represented a trend. The North Suburban conference, which had four teams popping in and out of the rankings all season, had a great first round.

The Week 12 Huntsville Times football Player of the Week, from the opening round of the Alabama High School Athletic Association playoffs, earned the highest percentage of votes of any other player of any preps poll for the season – by a long shot.

There were some strong impressive performances on the SouthCoast in Week 10 action. Voting ends at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17.

Tennessee high school football is back and so begins our Player of the Week polls for the state. Teams showcased more of what they’ve got heading into Week 8 of the regular season.
