The IPL retention rules are out as the law of 'uncapped players' makes a return.  The rule states any player who is capped becomes uncapped if he hasn't played international cricket for 5 years or held a central contract with the BCCI.

The BCCI brought back the uncapped player rule for India's international players with over five years of gap in their last appearance for the national team.

The new rule also states that every team will get a chance to retain a maximum of six players that can have five capped players and two uncapped players.
