Chennai: Upset with the ongoing probe into the recent daring sexual assault on an engineering student on the reputable Anna University campus in Chennai, the Madras High Court on Saturday constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising of an all-women IPS officers team.

The Madras High Court has formed an all-women IPS officers' SIT to probe the Anna University sexual assault case and the FIR leak incident, directing the Tamil Nadu Government to compensate the victim and ensure no future FIR leaks.

The Chennai City police have registered a case against members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for organising a protest against the sexual assault on a student of Anna University, by carrying a cloth dummy symbolising the ruling DMK and insisting that it be “treated for weakness” at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH).
