In a jolt to AAP ahead of the Delhi Assembly polls, senior leader and Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot quit the party on Sunday, alleging “political ambitions” have overtaken its commitment towards people.

AAP leader Kailash Gahlot resigns, citing party controversies and unfulfilled promises, including quitting as Delhi Transport Minister.

In a letter sent to Chief Minister Atishi, Gahlot said, "I hereby tender my resignation from the council of ministers, GNTCD. This may be accepted with immediate effect."

In a letter addressed to AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Gehlot said that the party has moved from fighting for people’s rights to fighting for own political agenda.
