Neighbors who live near the BioLab chemical fire in Rockdale County are now saying it’s making them sick. Conyers resident Andy Owens told Channel 2′s Audrey Washington that he had to go to the hospital after he fell ill.

Days after a massive fire at the BioLab plant in Conyers, the area is still covered in a thick cloud with the potent smell of chlorine.

The last major incident occurred in 2020 when a similar situation forced Interstate 20 to close for six hours.

ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — Several class action lawsuits have been filed against BioLab after a fire at its chemical plant in Rockdale County. Attorneys representing people who live near the facility say negligence led to the fire that’s still affecting thousands and that what happened is unacceptable.

The lawsuit alleges BioLab and KIK Custom Products "upended" nearly 100,000 Georgians lives through "reckless handling" of a chemical at its facility.

National personal injury law firm, Morgan & Morgan has filed a class-action lawsuit against BioLab Inc. and KIK Consumer Products after a fire at BioLab's Conyers plant resulted in a plume of chemicals wafting from the site across metro Atlanta.

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against BioLab over a chemical fire that started on Sunday. Rockdale County residents Fannie and Albert Tart are filing individually and on behalf of other victims for real property-related damages caused by the chlorine-filled plume of smoke from the chemical fire.
