Singapore drivers can enter Malaysia without VEP tag from Oct 1, but warnings will be issued
KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia’s Road Transport Department (JPJ) announced on Sept 27 that foreign-registered vehicles which have yet to install Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) tags by the Oct 1 deadline will still be allowed to enter Malaysia from Singapore.

Malaysian authorities say that a warning notice will be issued to drivers of vehicles before they leave Malaysia if they have still not installed their VEP.
