West Philadelphia hit-and-run leaves 14-year-old girl dead, police say
A 14-year-old girl was killed in a hit-and-run in West Philadelphia on Thursday night, police said. The hit-and-run happened on the 6500 block of Haverford Avenue just before 10 p.m., according to police. Police said a black striking vehicle fled the scene. It's unclear which direction the vehicle fled.
