As the Bay Area endures scorching temperatures this week, some PG&E customers may lose power due to public safety power shutoffs

Possible planned power outages due to the current heat wave roasting Northern California were called off for customers in Contra Costa, Alameda and Sonoma counties and most of Napa County, PG&E officials said early Monday evening.

PG&E on Monday is planning to shut off power to dozens of customers in Napa County as part of its Public Safety Power Shutoffs program, according to the Napa County Sheriff's Office.
