Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to retaliate and said the unprecedented Iranian strikes on Israel would cause “vast destruction”. Iran fired around 180 ballistic missiles at Israel late on Tuesday - the salvo of missiles considerably bigger than April’s barrage when Iran fired 110 ballistic missiles and 30 cruise missiles in response to the targeted killing of one of its generals.
