A Scottish woman accused of stalking “Baby Reindeer” creator and star Richard Gadd can proceed with her defamation lawsuit against Netflix, after a federal judge in California refused to dismiss all of the claims.

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn's defamation lawsuit against Jake Paul is proceeding after a U.S. District Court judge in New York denied a motion to dismiss the case.

The lawsuit against Netflix by the alleged inspiration of Baby Reindeer is picking up steam. Fiona Harvey, who claims that the popular mini-series is based on her, sued the streamer for defamation in June.

The lawsuit filed by Fiona Harvey, the Scottish woman who says she is the inspiration for Martha from Netflix's "Baby Reindeer," will go forward, after a California judge ruled that the show falsely claimed to be a "true story.

Netflix moved to dismiss the lawsuit under California’s anti-SLAPP law, which allows for the early dismissal of lawsuits intended to chill free speech. The court, however, found that Harvey has a “probability of prevailing” on allegations over defamation.

The show was wrongly promoted as a true story and made the actions of Fiona Harris, portrayed in the series as Martha, worse than they were in real life, the California judge said.
